Featured by Opera News as one of their '25 Rising Stars' (October 2015), tenor Andrew Bidlack began the 2019-20 season at Liepāja Symphony Orchestra, Latvia, in the role of Tony West Side Story before traveling to Intermountain Opera for Ricky Ian Gordon's "27"appearing as Pablo Picasso. He returns to Chicago Opera Theater for the double bill of Everest and Aleko, reprising the role of Rob Hall and debuting the role of the Young Gypsy, followed by further performances of Everest with Austin Opera. He was due to make debuts with the Atlanta Symphony for performances of Carmina Burana, the BBC Symphony Orchestra in London for Everest, and Bard SummerScape to sing Lyonnel in Chausson's rarely heard Le roi Arthus, all of which were canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
